Stream of Consciousness
Watch Lori create a painting while experiencing the conversation unfolding inside her mind. Listen as she reacts to what she sees, questions each decision, weighs competing possibilities, and responds to the painting as it evolves.
Rather than simply demonstrating techniques, Lori shares the constant inner dialogue that guides every brushstroke—the observations, doubts, discoveries, and moments of intuition that shape the final work. Follow her thought process from the first marks to the finishing touches, and see not only what she chooses, but why.

Palette Knife for the Plein Air Painter
Using a palette knife can turn an ordinary painting into a true eye-catcher. Lydia will demonstrate how she uses a palette knife to create tree trunks, fence lines, boat rigging, crisp building edges, and shimmering reflections on water.
There are many shapes and sizes of palette knives to experiment with, and Lydia will share how she uses her favorite tools. All are welcome!

Whether painting from life or from a photograph, a strong shape will never steer you wrong.
Lamar will discuss the importance of shape and intention when approaching a painting and how these fundamental concepts strengthen every composition.

Car Trouble? A Painting Perspective
Vehicles are always coming and going, presenting a unique challenge to the plein air artist. In this demonstration, Josh will show how he approaches painting vehicles and how to incorporate them into the urban landscape. He will also discuss common challenges artists encounter when painting vehicles outdoors and practical ways to solve them.
If possible, Josh would like to conduct this demonstration in front of the gallery so he can show the audience what to do when a car drives away in the middle of a painting or sketch.

George will demonstrate how elements from numerous plein air marsh and sky paintings can be combined into fresh, cohesive compositions. By rearranging these individual studies, artists can create an endless variety of gallery-ready paintings in many sizes.

Mimi Diamond
Push–Pull: The Cornerstone of Abstract Expressionism
Mimi will demonstrate techniques for creating three-dimensional depth and dynamic movement without relying on traditional perspective. She will share methods for transforming abstract compositions into landscapes through the use of color, value, and texture.
Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with brayers, squeegees, cold wax medium, and other tools while helping create the artwork. As always, expect plenty of laughter and hands-on fun!

Rob Summerlin
Moving Fast and Loose
Join Rob as he demonstrates how a fast start can set you up for success when painting en plein air. You'll learn to let go, react instinctively, and—most importantly—make productive mistakes.
Watch Rob use more paint than he probably should and get messier than he has any right to. Just remember to stay outside the splash radius!
No materials are necessary.
The Exhibition Gallery will close at 1:30 p.m. to allow the Georgia Color Team to prepare for the Artist Awards & Collectors Celebration Saturday evening; VIPs and Georgia Color artists enter 5:30 p.m.; All others 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. $50 per ticket and your ticket price may be applied to the purchase of a painting (one ticket per painting).
